I was landing on American soil with my friend and this my precious child. I had been away from home for 6 long weeks, from my children and from my country, I had borded the plane to America with a tiny little boy - 6 years old in his 12 month pjs. A child who had been institutionalized who would draw blood from his own hands and arms and would do the same to his mother who would constrain him. There were a couple moments of peace on that journey to America, however they would quickly end with the same consistant head banging, bitting and screams of terror. He cried, I cried, my friend cried...I was an emotional mess, seeing the Welcome to the United States of America sign in Denver was a bit too much for me..in a happy way :)We had followed the Lord across the ocean and were turning one little boys world upside down (well as he had to have thought)....the new sounds, the people were all too very much and too stimulating for this small child who had spent his whole life behild walls. A child who knew not how to play, nor how to hold his cup, nor how to take affection, nor how to give it...a little boy who if allowed would have sit in a corner all day all alone to head bang and rock.....I tell you all that not to sadden or discourage you...I tell you all that to tell you.... The goodness of God. Today as I type I sit with tears in my eyes as my little Dima snuggles up to me (yes, he will find me in the house no matter where I am) and tries so very hard to say momma. Today he has gained 6 pounds since arrival into the states, he holds his cup, he laughs, he cries, he loves to take affection and loves to give affection. He loves to eat and expects food quickly after his bib is put on him, he loves water, he loves the piano, he loves music, he loves the outdoors, He is responsive to his siblings and all those behaviors of bitting and head banging are gone. Thank you Lord for the honor of being his momma, the honor of taking this child and seeing you work in him. This fruit has not come without tears and prayers but God is faithful. I am undeserving of this honor, thank you Lord.

How awesome it is to read that the Lord is working in your family and in D and what a precious gift the Lord has given you in allowing you to be his mother!
