...they had been with Jesus.
"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus" Acts 4:13
Upon arrival to my mother in laws house after her passing, though she was no longer there, there was clearly evidence of her existance in that home. As you looked around, you might see evidence of curtains she had intended to make, little notes that were started yet never finished, laundry that her dear hands had started yet never got to fold and put away, food preperations that never were completed, prayer journals in which if you knew her, you might have found out she had been praying for you by reading your name in those journals. It was as if you could almost follow her footsteps of what she was doing during the last days of her life on Earth. There was evidence that she was once living there. There is no doubt in my mind that her last days as all of her days were spent with Jesus.
Today I am reminded of this verse in Acts in which there was evidence Peter and John had been with Jesus. This is such a humbling verse to me. When our neighbors come over, when our husbands come home, when we are out doing errands...can those around us see that we too have been with Jesus? I write this to myself in humility. Lord help us to shine so for you, that others know in whose presence we have been.
"Let your light so shine before man, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
