It has been too long.....

Time has greatly passed since I last wrote about Torez. That does not mean I have forgot. This place, these people, seem to run through my blood every day. Please continue in your prayers for both this town and its people and the workers and residents at the institution. A sad thought occurred to me today. Since the existence of the facility there were only a handful of adoptions. There will, to my knowledge, never be another adoption from the facility we adopted our son from. I never shared this, but a good while back all children were transferred to other facilities. Currently the facility is home to residents with special needs ages 18 and over. This means that the handful of us who the Lord sent that way for adoptions are the only ones that will ever adopt from there. This makes my heart very sad. Not many will have the opportunity to know the sweet faces that reside in this facility tucked away on the outside of the town. Not many will have the opportunity to return to show Christ to the people there. Pray that the Lord would keep the doors open to sharing the Gospel in this place....we have hope and this makes my heart happy. Pray for the dear people of Ukraine. Pray especially for those caring for the orphans. Pray that God might be made known in Torez. He alone can bring glorious hope through the forgiveness of sins. He alone can change hearts and lives. He alone can offer a blessed life to those who come in humility before Him. The world see a blessed life on the materialistic level. And I do know that everything I have been blessed with is from the Lord, including those material possessions and I am thankful to Him for those...God says these are the blessed. I am thankful that these sweet people who have nothing to offer can come and taste of the rich blessings of God through His son Jesus Christ.

"And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."
Matthew 5:1-17
