About this time last year, we had some friends, who are missionaries to Zambia, Africa, stay with us for a week. During their stay with us, they noticed how people were naturally drawn in curiosity towards Dmitriy. Sometimes in being Dmitriy's momma, I really forget that he looks different. As his momma, I see Dmitriy, not a boy with missing eyes. They suggested that we might pray about writing a Gospel tract about Dmitriy that could be passed during these open door opportunities. We spent some time praying about it and quickly felt this to be God's will. I became very busy and time went on. Would you please be praying the doors might swing open for us to do this. When we are out with Dmitriy, people are very curious (especially children). I usually say something to the effect of Dmitriy is fearfully and wonderfully made and God made him with no eyes and made you with two working eyes. Children are usually very contact with that answer but I would sure love to be able to offer them more. We would like to have a nice picture of Dmitriy on the front. We would like to start out the tract by saying "Hello my name is Dmitriy" in Russian and then in English. We would give background of how he is made in the image of God and of his adoption and how he came to America. This would then lead us into sharing the Gospel. We would also like to have some printed in Russian in case we ever made it back that way with Dmitriy. Will you please be in prayer for this project. That we would be wise and careful in choosing our wording and that the doors would open for this to come to pass. The Lord did not make Dmitriy in vain. He has a purpose for his little life.
Please also be in prayer concerning Dmitriy's birth family. A friend of a friend is going to try to go by their apartment soon and check on them. Please pray for this persons safety as he travels and also for the possible contact he would have with Dmitriy's parents. We are not even sure his parents are still in their apartment. Due to the conflict, they have no running water, electricity in that town and most have left. They too have possibly left and could even be living as refugees in Russia.
We have also almost completed the i movie of Dmitriy's adoption and I am excited, Lord willing, to share that with you soon.
Our hearts desire is that these things would all point others to Christ.
