Does Torez Allow Adoptions?
I remember typing those exact words "Does Torez allow adoptions" into google hundreds of times throughout our 9 month adoption process for Dmitriy. We had been told that we would be rejected, that the facility did not allow for adoptions. We were prepared to go to the facility, be rejected and have to return to the SDA for a blind referral. We were prepard that if that happened this could take us away from our children for months and could drain us out financially. Regardless of that, all we could hear from the Lord was go, go, go, go,....trust me, trust me, trust me. We have never so clearly heard the voice of the Lord calling us. We had to follow Him, YES all the way to Torez, Ukraine.
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." John 10:27
There were times in our flesh we would question God. God, surely you do not call us to be away from our children for this long? God, we only have the money for this to work. How will we afford this if we have to return to the SDA for another referral? The Lord would quickly whisper, O ye of little faith! I write this today, to prehaps help a family who may have the same question as we did at one time. There has not been a family who has come to Torez who has been denied. Not only are adoptions allowed but our process at the facility was a plesant experience. Just this year 4 children have been adopted and 2 more have their momma and daddy working hard to get to them. There is hope, even at Torez and yes, they do allow for adoptions.
"And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." 1 Samuel 15:22
