his happy little self will be made completely whole.
Today we met with the Cornea specialist. I had been praying about this appointment for months, and I know many of you joined us in prayer. The Lord truly answered our prayers in a way I could have never imagined. We saw two doctors. The first a very kind, humble, yet intelligent Dr. from China. He asked how we came to adopt Dmitriy and I shared with him the condensed story. He then said, so you are Christians? I answered yes, then he shared with me that he too was a Christian. My heart rejoiced, I cannot begin to tell you how my heart rejoiced!! The second doctor came in and was oh so very kind and gentle. He was trained under Dr. A in New York and personally knows him from medical school. He went on to say that Dr. A is the best in the world for cornea transplants on children. Dmitriy had underwent a series of testing on his eyes prior to the appointment. The Dr.s shared with me those results and the Lord very kindly, very peacefully let me know that He has closed this door, that this was His hand and to not be afraid.I cannot put into words the peace that flowed through that exam room, it was indeed a supernatural rest. It has been a long year of chasing the possibility and holding on to the hope that our son would see. Oh, to look into his eye and his eye into mine. We want to give him the world, we wanted so badly to give him sight.
You see, this is God's will for our son. God is sovereign and He has the power to heal our son. It was also in his ability to make our son's eye a candidate for the cornea transplant in New York, but that is not what God has for Dmitriy. God has a wonderful plan for his life, but this is not part of that plan. Dmitriy only has the one eye and that eye just did not fully form with all the working parts. Based on the test, Dmitriy has never seen light and the pathway from the bain to the eye is just not as it should be. The Dr. did tell us that with advancement in medical technology to not loose complete hope that maybe, just maybe, one day on this earth, he will see. We will always remain open to any future possibilities of something that can give Dmitriy sight. Even with the greatest medical technology, our hope remains in the Great Physician, the Lord who made heaven and earth.
We are thankful that the Lord did answer our prayer for today's appointment, that His will has been done, that He has given us rest, and that He blessed us with such kind Christian Dr.s for today.
Our circumstances have changed a bit now. The Lord is good, His goodness does not change according to our circumstances and we rejoice today in that goodness.
"And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever." Revelation 22:5
