He Giveth More Grace
He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials he multiplies peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
Written by Annie J. Flint
Daughter of Eldon Johnson, Annie was evidently adopted by the Flint family as a young girl. She attended school in Trenton, New Jersey, and became a teacher, but had to quit the profession after only few years when severe arthritis made her unable to walk. Thereafter, she lived near the Clifton Springs Sanitarium, and began writing poetry. Many of her verses were published on cards, and in magazines and books, including By the Way: Travelogues of Cheer.
We sang this hymn yesterday at church and it ministered to my heart. I hope it can be a blessing to you today. Whatever your trial, my sisters in Christ, He giveth and giveth and giveth again.
